I am often asked where we get such relevant and up to date information on the DePIN landscape. And while we follow a lot of X (formerly Twitter) accounts and attend tons of AMAs, the BEST information we get about DePIN is from well developed Podcasts hosted by some of the most knowledgeable in the space. This is where the gold nuggets can truly be mined! Below you will find my top three must listen to DePIN podcasts and as a bonus we added our favorite general crypto podcast. Have any suggestions? DePIN Hub
Hosted by one of the co-founders of Hubspotty, an application designed to help providers track their Helium hotspots, the “DePIN Hub” podcast consistently brings on DePIN founders and discusses new and upcoming DePIN projects. I enjoyed this podcast so much that when I first discovered it in May 2024, I listened to all 25 episodes back-to-back over the course of a week and then created an X thread highlighting my top 5 episodes:
Now boasting over 35 episodes, Daniel, the host, leverages his extensive experience with DePIN, dating back to his early involvement with Helium, to ask insightful questions and delve into key aspects of DePIN projects. The podcast offers a wealth of information, making it a valuable resource for anyone interested in the evolving DePIN landscape.
Unleashing DePIN
The Unleashing DePIN podcast is an insightful and well-produced series that explores many DePIN projects. Hosted by Tyler Boscolo, a knowledgeable DePIN expert, the podcast features interviews with industry leaders, offering valuable insights into the real-world applications and benefits of DePINs. Each episode is structured to build a comprehensive understanding of the subject, making it accessible to both newcomers and seasoned professionals. Proof of Coverage
This one you may have missed because it doesn’t have the word DePIN in the title but believe me it's all about the DePIN! The “Proof of Coverage” podcast, hosted by Connor Lovely, founder of Escape Velocity Ventures, is an essential listen for anyone keen on understanding decentralized networks and DePIN projects. Connor is a fierce advocate for decentralization and started investing in the space well before the term DePIN came about. The podcast dives deep into the technical and operational aspects of these networks, offering rich insights into various DePIN initiatives. Connor’s extensive background and expertise in DePIN, combined with his engaging interviewing style, make complex topics both accessible and intriguing. **BONUS** Top Crypto Postcast: Unchained
So DePIN is cool and all but you have to stay connected to the larger Crypto markets and Unchained is one of the true originals of Crypto Podcasts. If you don’t know the host Laura Shin then you should get subscribed immediately. Laura is one of the earliest mainstream reporters to cover crypto and her podcast interviews are simply the best I have listened to. I often find myself listening to her interview a guest, think of a “but what about this?” or “but how does it actually work?” type question and before I can even finish my own thought Laura is asking her guest the exact question that is in my head. She has so much experience that instinctively she knows just what to ask and when, to make sure her listeners fully understand the topic at hand. The Unchained podcast now has few different flavors including the Chopping Block which is a fantastic round table between long time crypto pros covering the news of the day.
